Setting Up IMAP

Please select from the list below the software you want to use to set up your IMAP.

    To set up IMAP, perform the following steps
    (Steps may vary slightly between Android
    devices, but all settings will remain the
    same):
    1. If this is the first email account on the
    Android: From the Home screen, tap the
    Applications button and then tap the Email
    icon. You will be presented with an email
    setup screen, tap Next
    -OtherwiseFrom the Home screen, tap the
    Applications button, tap Settings, find
    Accounts or Accounts & Sync, and tap
    Add Account
    2. Select Email or Other from the Add
    Account selection

    3. Enter your entire email address (e.g.,
    myname@mydomain.com) and your
    mailbox password
    4. Tap the Next button and then select
    IMAP as the type of account. Enter the
    following information for Account Setup:
    •Email Address: Your complete email
    address
    •Username: Your complete email address
    •Password: Your email address password
    •IMAP server: secure.emailsrvr.com
    •Port: 993
    •Security type: SSL or SSL/TLS
    •Authentication Method: Auto

    5. Tap the Next button. The device will
    connect to the internet and verify your
    incoming settings
    6. Enter the following information for the 2nd
    portion of the Account setup, Outgoing
    Server Settings:
    •SMTP server: secure.emailsrvr.com
    •Port: 465
    •Security type: SSL or SSL/TLS
    •Authentication Method: Auto
    •Require sign-in: Must be checked
    7. Tap the Next button. The device will
    connect to the internet and verify your
    outgoing settings
    *Note: On the Account Options/Settings
    screen, make changes as desired
    8. Tap the Next button. You can name your
    account and edit the display name here if
    you choose to (the Display Name is what
    will show in the “From” field of the
    messages you send) and then tap Done to
    complete the set up

    1. On the iPhone (or iPad), tap Settings.
    2. Tap Accounts & Passwords.
    3. Tap Add Account.
    4. Tap Other.
    5. Tap Add Mail Account.
    6. Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description
    fields.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Ensure IMAP is selected.
    9. Enter your incoming mail server information:
    o Hostname is secure.emailsrvr.com.
    o Username is your full email address
    o Password is the same password used to access webmail.
    Enter your outgoing mail server information:
    o Hostname is secure.emailsrvr.com.
    o Username is your full email address
    o Password is the same password used to access webmail.
    Tap Next.
    The iPhone will attempt to establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers. If
    this succeeds, you will be done and can proceed to step 13. If this fails, you will see the prompt,
    "Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?"
    o Tap No.
    o Tap Save.
    o When prompted, "This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are
    you sure you want to save," tap Save.
    Tap the account you just added (identified by your email address)
    Scroll down and tap the SMTP button.
    Select the server you just added, identified by the hostname from step 9.
    Select OFF for Use SSL.
    Select Password for Authentication
    Select 25 for Server Port.
    Tap the SMTP button to go back.
    Tap your email address to go back.
    Tap Advanced.
    Scroll down to Incoming Settings.
    Select OFF for Use SSL.
    Select Password for Authentication.
    Select 143 for Server Port.
    Tap your email address to go back.
    Tap Mail to go back.
    Tap the Home button.
    Tap the Mail App to check your configuration.

    1. In Outlook, go to File,
    2. Click Account Settings
    3. When you click the Account Settings box in the previous step, this opens another box
    directly beneath it. Click on Account Settings here as well.
    4. When the settings box comes up you should be on the Email tab, click New
    5. Click Add Account
    6. Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types radio button.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Select the Internet Email (this may say POP3 or IMAP instead) option.
    9. Click Next.
    10. Enter the following information:
    o Your Name: This lets people know who sent the email
    o Email address: The council email
    o Server Type: IMAP
    o Incoming Server: secure.emailsrvr.com
    o Outgoing Mail server: secure.emailsrvr.com
    o User name: council email address
    o Password: password give to you by the clerk
    11. Click More Settings.
    Click Outgoing Server and enter the following:
    Tick the 'My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication' box
    Select 'Use the Same Settings as my Incoming Server'.
    Click Advanced and enter the following:
    Use the Following Encryption Method, both Incoming and Outgoing should be set to SSL
    The Incoming Port Number will change to 993 automatically
    The Outgoing Port Number needs to be manually changed to 465.
    Click OK
    Click Next and Outlook will log on to the mail server and send a test message. When
    these have completed click Close,
    Click Finish.
    These are all the required steps for adding your VisionICT IMAP account to Outlook.

    How to Set Up VisionICT IMAP in Windows Live Mail
    1. Open Windows Live Mail
    2. Add an email account
    a. Select File from the menu at the top of the window
    b. Select Options
    c. Choose Email Accounts...
    d. Select Add
    e. Select Email Account
    3. Enter the following information:
    a. Email address: Your council email address
    b. Password: Your council email password (the clerk will provide this)
    c. Remember this password: Yes (add a check mark)
    d. Display name for your sent messages: Your first and last name e.g. John Smith
    e. Manually configure server settings: Yes (add a check mark)
    f. Select Next
    4. Enter Incoming server information
    a. Server type: IMAP
    b. Server address: imap.emailsrvr.com
    c. Port: 143
    d. Logon user name: Your full council email address
    5. Enter outgoing server information
    a. Server address: smtp.emailsrvr.com
    b. Port: 25
    c. Requires authentication: Yes (add a check mark)
    6. Click Next and then Finish

    How to install Blue Mail on Android Phones
    To install Blue Mail on your Android phone you will need to get it from the Play Store
    (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.bluemail.mail&rdid=me.bluemail.mail)
    Once it has downloaded, you will need to configure it. To do this you:
    Tap on the Blue Mail icon
    Tap Add Other Account
    Tap Other Email (bottom of the list)
    Enter the council email address you are setting up and the Password you have been given.
    Tap on ‘Automatic’ to remove the check mark and tap Next.
    Tap IMAP
    Scroll down to the IMAP Server section. Change this to:
    secure.emailsrvr.com
    In Security, choose SSL/TLS
    Leave Authentication as Plain
    Leave the Port as 993
    Tap Next
    SMTP server change this to:
    secure.emailsrvr.com
    Security is SSL/TLS
    Leave the Port as 465 (or change it to 465 if it not already).
    Require Sign In should be ticked
    Leave Authentication as Automatic
    The username and password have been filled in
    Tap Next
    Type in your Name. What you enter here is what the recipients of your messages will see in their
    inboxes when they get a message from you.
    Type in a Description if you want to, but it’s no necessary.
    Tap Done
    Tap Done again
    You will now be taken to the welcome screen which has some pages of the features of Blue Mail,
    you can either go through them or tap Skip in the top right.
    When the mailbox opens you will get a message asking if you want to enable synching between
    your devices. Click on the Verify Number button, enter your mobile number (remembering to leave
    the 0 off) and you will get a text with a code. Enter this code and click Verify. You now have set up
    your Blue Mail on your phone.

    Download the Outlook for Android app from the Play Store here
    1.Once it downloads, open it, and tap the blue Get Started button
    2.Enter your email address
    3.Tap Continue
    4.Now, the app by default will choose Exchange. Tap on the white Question Mark
    icon on the top left
    5.Then tap Change account provider
    6.Select IMAP, at the bottom
    7.Enable the Advanced Settings slider
    8.Enter the following settings on the screen, as shown below:
    Email: Your full council email address
    Display Name: Your name (This is what will appear in the recipient’s inbox)
    Description: something to help you distinguish the account
    IMAP Incoming Server: secure.emailsrvr.com
    Username: Your full council email address
    Password: Your mailbox password
    SMTP Outgoing Server: secure.emailsrvr.com
    Username: Your full council email address
    Password: Your mailbox password
    Once you're done, click the checkbox on the top right corner
    9.Tap Skip to skip adding another account
    10.You may go through the app tutorial by clicking on the arrow on the bottom right,
    or tap Skip to skip it
    11.Once you see the mailbox screen, you are all set! It may take a few minutes to
    download mail depending on a variety of factors

    How to Set Up Your Email Account in Windows 10 Mail
    Open Windows Mail
    To add an email account, you need to:
    Click on the cog on the right hand side of the buttons at the bottom of the blue side bar.
    1. Click on Manage Accounts
    2. Select Add Account
    3. Choose Other Account (POP, IMAP)
    4. Add your council email address into the ‘Email Address’ field
    5. Add your name to the ‘Send your messages using this name’ field. What ever you put in
    here is what will appear in people’s inboxes when they receive a message from you.
    6. Enter your Password in the ‘Password’ field.
    7. Click on Sign In
    8. Click on Done
    Your email account is now set up.
